Sewer Camera Inspection in Las Vegas
MG Drain Services LLC | (702) 480-8070
A sewer camera inspection takes the guesswork out of drain and sewer problems. Instead of diagnosing by symptoms alone, we feed a waterproof camera through your drain line and watch the live feed on a monitor. You see exactly what is in the pipe, and so do we. MG Drain Services LLC performs sewer camera inspections across Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas, and Summerlin.
When You Need a Sewer Camera Inspection in Las Vegas
Camera inspections are not just for major problems. There are several situations where a look inside the pipe is the right first step.
Recurring Drain Backups
If a drain keeps backing up after cleaning, the camera tells us whether it is a grease or scale problem, a root intrusion, or a structural issue like a collapsed pipe or broken joint.
Before Buying a Home
A standard home inspection does not include a camera look at the sewer line. In older Las Vegas neighborhoods, especially in North Las Vegas and central Las Vegas, cast iron drain lines under the slab are common. These pipes deteriorate from the inside. A pre-purchase camera inspection tells you the condition of the sewer line before the sale closes.
After a Drain Cleaning
A post-cleaning camera pass confirms the line is clear and documents its condition. This is useful for landlords who need records of drain maintenance on rental properties.
Slab Leak Investigation
When tracing a slab leak or investigating unexplained water under the slab, a camera inspection of the drain line helps rule out or confirm a broken sewer pipe as the source.
Unexplained Odors or Multiple Slow Drains
When multiple fixtures drain slowly or sewer odors are present without a single obvious clog, the camera finds the location and cause.
What We Look for During a Las Vegas Sewer Camera Inspection
Las Vegas properties have specific pipe conditions we watch for during every inspection.
- Cast iron deterioration. Homes built before the 1980s commonly have cast iron drain lines. The camera shows scale buildup, rust flaking, and areas where the pipe wall has thinned or cracked.
- Root intrusion. Tree and shrub roots follow moisture into sewer lines through small cracks or joint gaps. Once inside, roots grow and eventually cause blockages or structural damage.
- Offset or separated joints. Ground movement in desert soil shifts pipe joints out of alignment over time. An offset joint catches debris and causes slow drains.
- Grease and scale buildup. Hard water mineral deposits and grease accumulation narrow the pipe interior. The camera shows how much buildup is present and whether hydro jetting will restore full flow.
- Pipe belly or sag. A section of pipe that has lost its downward slope holds water and debris instead of draining. These low spots are only visible with a camera.
After the inspection, we walk you through what we found and explain your options in plain language. If you want documentation, we can provide a written report.
